About

Taylor Tang is a policy researcher working at the intersection of technology, governance, and the public sector — focused on AI governance, evidence-based decision-making at the centre of government, and how democratic institutions stay resilient and trusted through rapid technological change.

She served as a Policy Advisor in the OECD's Public Governance Directorate, where she co-authored volumes including Steering from the Centre of Government in Times of Complexity and a public governance review of Thailand, and is now a Fellow with the Internet Society researching digital sovereignty and Internet governance. She previously worked at Global Affairs Canada and UBC, and holds a dual bachelor's degree from the University of British Columbia and Sciences Po Paris.

Researching AI's impact on Internet and platform governance for digital sovereignty, applying structured policy-assessment tools (the Internet Impact Assessment Toolkit) to national AI and data governance measures.

Policy Advisor, Young Associate Programme

Selected as one of 11 associates from roughly 4,000 applicants for the OECD's Young Associate Programme. Co-designed AI-enabled decision-making tools for government clients and authored strategic reports guiding responsible technology adoption; co-led two-day workshops on responsible AI use in government for 30+ senior stakeholders. Co-authored the OECD book Steering from the Centre of Government in Times of Complexity (2024) and a Public Governance Review of Thailand (2025), including methodology design and NVivo coding of qualitative interviews. Drove delivery of a seven-country peer-learning project for the European Commission and coordinated high-level events, including the 2024 OECD Expert Group on Strategic Decision-Making and a 35-stakeholder workshop in Estonia with the UK Cabinet Office and Australian Public Service Commission.
